ENGLISH BELOW
Bene, è tempo di dare qualche anticipazione.
Avevo intenzione di pubblicare un 'best of' per i 10 anni di carriera, e come ogni raccolta che si rispetti, avrebbe dovuto includere qualche inedito, o versione alternativa.
Ho cominciato a raccogliere qualche traccia, rimasterizzarne qualcuna, scavato gli archivi cercando materiale non pubblicato, e alla fine della fiera mi son ritrovato con ben 11 tracce. Praticamente un album.
D'accordo con la mia etichetta, ho acccettato il suggerimento di aggiungere un altro paio di brani, e pubblicare la prosima uscita come 'album', per non confondere e svalorizzare il materiale nuovo, mentre il 'best of' uscirà più avanti verso fine anno.
Entrambi sempre e solo in digitale, l'album su tutte le piattaforme di download e streaming, mentre il 'best of' solo per iTunes ad un prezzo molto ridotto.
'Life Is A Tape 2007 - 2017' non sarà un vero e proprio album come ho concepito "23:32" e la tracklist sarà composta da:
- una suite di 12 minuti che non ho mai avuto il coraggio di pubblicare
- la versione originale di 'Springtime', finora disponibile solo nella versione 'Remix'
- 2 covers pubblicate lo scorso anno in "Papeetecafé Saudade" più un'altra cover che non trovò spazio nella tracklist della medesima
- 2 brani strumentali con Andy G, parte di 4 esperimenti, dei quali uno, "Essence" è stato da poco pubblicato da Lounge Masters.
- 1 brano rimasterizzato ed 1 rimasterizzato e rivisitato dal primo album 'Beautiful Memories...'
- una nuova versione di 'Basically I'm Fine'
- 1 brano che era inizialmente strumentale destinato ad un progetto pubblicitario e che ho trasformato in canzone
- 1 brano che arriva alla sua terza veste
- Ed infine una traccia composta ancora prima che Didascalis pubblicasse ufficialmente qualcosa, risalente addirittura al 2003, ma mai realizzata in studio fino ad oggi.
Quindi posso dichiarare che il settimo album sarà una raccolta-non-raccolta, con il sound ed il sapore che contraddistingue le mie ultime produzioni.
Dimenticavo: si chiamerà 'Life Is A Tape 2007 - 2017' perché contiene anche una nuova versione, quasi acustica, di 'Life Is A Tape', con la partecipazione di Garduz - che da quando suona live con me, adora questo brano-, e cantato da Mary.
In fondo, credo che il testo di 'Life Is A Tape' sia una delle cose più profonde ed originali che abbia mai scritto.
P.S. Come al solito, ogni brano sarà accompagnato da un post con una sua descrizione e storia che lo riguarda.

Well, it's time to give some anticipation.
I was going to release a 'best of' for the 10 year career, and as any collection that respects, it should have included some unreleased or alternative versions.
I started collecting some tracks, remastering some of them, digging the archives for unreleased material, and at the end of the day I found myself with 11 tracks. Virtually an album.
Agreed with my label, I've welcomed the suggestion of adding another couple of songs, and put out next release as an 'album', not to confuse and surrender the new material, while the 'best of' will be out later this year.
Both always and only in digital, the album on all download and streaming platforms, while the 'best of' only for iTunes at a very low price.
'Life Is A Tape 2007 - 2017' will not be a real album as "23:32" was conceived and the tracklist will consist of:
- a 12 minutes suite I never dared to release before
- the original version of 'Springtime', so far only available in 'Remix'
- 2 covers released last year in "Papeetecafé Saudade" plus another cover that did not find room in the tracklist of the same
- 2 instrumental tracks with Andy G, part of 4 experiments, one of which, "Essence" has recently been released by Lounge Masters.
- 1 remastered track and one remastered and revisited from the first album 'Beautiful Memories ...'
- a new version of 'Basically I'm Fine'
- 1 track that was initially instrumental for a commercial project and I turned it into a song
- 1 song that comes to its third garment
- And finally a track composed yet before Didascalis released something officially, even dating back to 2003, but never done in the studio to this day.
So I can say that the seventh album will be a collection-non-collection, with the sound and flavor that distinguishes my latest productions.
I forgot: it will be called 'Life Is A Tape 2007 - 2017' because it also contains a new, almost acoustic version of 'Life Is A Tape', featuring Garduz - who since playing live with me, adores this song, and sang by Mary.
After all, I think 'Life Is A Tape's' lyrics are one of the deepest and most original things I've ever written.
